Published 12:10 pm Monday, January 25, 2010

The Museum at Southwestern Michigan College invites the public to attend its Valentines for Veterans workshop Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Museum Educator Jennifer Quail will host the free workshop and help visitors make valentines.

Each visitor can make two valentines: one for their “valentine” and another for a military veteran. Valentines created for veterans will be collected by the museum and sent to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Battle Creek. The museum staff will collect as many valentines for veterans as possible and encourages families, students and adults to participate in this event.

The museum will provide all the necessary supplies and no reservations are required – simply show up at your convenience during the workshop.

The Museum at SMC is an interactive local history museum located on the Dowagiac campus of Southwestern Michigan College. Museum hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
