The Buchanan Art Center announces a fundraiser to be held at Blackthorn’s elegant Blue Heron on Saturday, Feb. 13 in South Bend. Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m.

“The Greta Pope Band will entertain guests with a very special Valentine’s Day performance that will have them on their feet dancing from the very first number,” said executive director and board president Mary Lister. Greta Pope and her band have entertained audiences throughout Europe, the Far East, South America, and the Caribbean as well as the United States and Canada.

Dinner, prepared by the culinary staff at the Blue Heron, features choice of Roulade of Flank Steak or Chicken Florentine. Guests can opt for a vegetarian specialty as well.

During the evening, guests can purchase raffle tickets to win a heart-shaped diamond necklace valued at $700, participate in the live auction of a vintage stained glass window created by Howard DeLisle and donated by Louann DeLisle Gardner and Ned Gardner, as well as a silent art auction of works donated by area artists. There will be an opportunity to purchase “My Funny Valentine” gifts for one’s sweetheart.

Tickets are $60 for members of the BAC, $65 for non-members. Tables seat eight guests, and the purchase of a full table entitles the buyer to a free raffle ticket for the diamond necklace. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Buchanan Art Center Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Checks should be made payable to The Buchanan Art Center.

The Buchanan Art Center was formed in 2004, and is located at 117 West Front St. in Buchanan.
