Berrien Regional Education Service Agency’s Board of Education, as part of its annual review of programs and services, has determined it will continue to offer accelerated math, science and technology courses through the Berrien County Mathematics and Science Center program housed at Andrews University in Berrien Springs.

“The Berrien RESA Board, as part of its budgetary process, was doing its due diligence by reviewing all of its programs and services offered throughout the county,” said Berrien RESA Superintendent Jeff Siegel.

Berrien County’s local districts conveyed at a recent meeting that they value the types of accelerated programming offered through the Center. Also, at that meeting, it was recommended that a special committee be formed to explore additional advanced placement classes for students at a central or regional location.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2011 Berrien County Mathematics Science Center freshman class. To learn more about the application process and the center, please visit www.bcmsc.org.
