Barbara Ann Shinholt-Edwards, 68 / Aug. 4, 1941 – Jan. 12, 2010

Barbara Ann Shinholt-Edwards, 68, residing in South Bend, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at home.

She was born Aug. 4, 1941 in South Bend and remained a lifelong resident. Barbara was the daughter of the late Harry S. and Isabelle Marie (Mathews) Miller, Jr. On Oct.12, 1973, in South Bend, she married Gary Shinholt (Edwards), who survives. Barbara was a homemaker and also worked at Kroger and 15 years at the former South Bend Plastics.

Along with her husband, Gary, Barbara is survived by one daughter, Robin (Dale) Dubbs of Elkhart; three sons, Richard Hurd of Advance, Mo, Ronald Roberts of LaPorte, and Randy Roberts of Dunnellon, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, Justin, Skyler, Ariel, Sylvia, Heather, Devin, Dustin, Tyler, Amber, Autumn, Isabelle, Kole, Logan and Angel; as well as five great-grandchildren, Ayden, Gavin, Austin, Marissa and Nathan. She is also survived by one sister, Janice Marie (Dave) Hagood of South Bend and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Miller of Niles.

Barbara was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Miller, Sr.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at Ontwa Baptist Church, 69946 Elkhart Rd., Edwardsburg, MI. The Rev. Michael Elsey will officiate.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to services at the church.
