A step toward catching the Niles Police Department up with technology took place last night. The Niles City Council approved a request to purchase four mobile computer terminals for police patrol vehicles.

A local organization made an anonymous donation of $22,500 to fund the purchase of the computers that allow officers to access the Internet, file reports and communicate more effectively from their vehicles.
