If you have a love for chocolate or are looking for a unique gift for a friend, family member, customer or employee then you’ve found a special treat with Heart-to-Heart Chocolate Pizzas. These hand-made chocolate candies come in the shape of a pizza – 13-inch or 5-inch – and are served in a white pizza box with a red ribbon. The proceeds of the chocolate pizzas go to support Lory’s Place, a Grief Healing and Education Center of Hospice at Home.
“Our heart has been with Lory’s Place since it began in 2004,” explains Dennis and Lynn Bowen, co-creators of Heart-to-Heart Chocolate Pizzas.
More than 500 pizzas have been sold since the group started. They hope that people will find this a new way to support Lory’s Place while providing a delicious delight for parties, meetings, gatherings of friends or simply as a special gift.
Heart-to-Heart Chocolate Pizzas are available by calling Lory’s Place at (269) 983-2707. A donation of $25 is requested for the 13-inch pizza and $5 for the 5-inch pizza. The pizzas contain chocolate, nuts and coconut as well as other special ingredients. Orders must be received by Jan. 29 for Valentine’s Day. They will be available for pick-up at Lory’s Place.
Since opening Nov. 15, 2004, hundreds of children from Allegan, Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties as well as from Elkhart and South Bend have taken the courageous step of accessing the bereavement resource services of Lory’s Place. With professional bereavement staff and trained volunteers, Lory’s Place provides regularly scheduled age-appropriate support group sessions that allow children and adults to interact with peers who have suffered similar loss. There is no charge for the services that Lory’s Place provides.
