James D. Savage, 49, of M-62, Edwardsburg died at 9:23 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka unexpectedly, but of natural causes.

He was born Feb. 5, 1960 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank W. Savage and Kathryn J. Chrisle Savage. He attended school in Columbus, Ohio and moved to this area in 1983.

He was employed by Dave’s Professional Services and Bulldog’s Custom Cuts. He enjoyed life and was optimistic about every situation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and sports, especially basketball. His greatest interest was his family.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Menapace; daughters, Lila Savage of Mishawaka and Summer Savage of Edwardsburg; sons, James “Dean” Savage of South Bend and Frank Savage of Edwardsburg; grandchildren, Ethan Anderson, Gage Spychalski, James Anthony Savage and Eli J. Savage; and a sister, Julia Savage of South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Edwards H. Slate of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating.

Friends may call beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
