erbert Monroe, 95, of Cassopolis died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 in the Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis.
He was born May 29, 1914 in Calvin Township, Cass County, Michigan to the late Ward and Myrtle (Dungey) Monroe. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda (Monroe) Jenkins; a son, John Monroe; stepfather, Roscoe Dungey; and a grandson, Kevin Anderson.
He is survived by those who love and will miss him, including his wife, Ina Monroe; daughters, Nadine (Pat) Williams of Lansing, Suzanne (Woody) Farris of Racine, Wis., Sherry (Michael) Gordon of Valencia, Calif.; son, Michael (Susan) Monroe of Racine, Wis.; stepsons, Leroy (Mary) Gill of Canada, Milton (Kathy) Grant of Goshen, Ind., Robert (Tanji) Grant of Farmington Hills, Mich.; stepdaughter, Althea Anderson of Chicago; niece, Barbara-Jean (Donald) Paker of Jackson, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren, Christopher Monroe, Patrick Monroe, Kevin Williams, Antoine Swain, Antoinette Swain, Ian Grant II, Brandon Grant, Trevor Grant, Paige Nealy, Julian Gordon, Lauren Grant, Zavier Gordon; and three great-great-grandchildren, Daniel Williams, Ella Williams and Katherine Williams.
