Edwardsburg falls to Berrien Springs

The Edwardsburg boys’ basketball team dropped a 42-33 decision to visiting Berrien Springs Tuesday night.
The Shamrocks grabbed a 15-6 first quarter lead, but the Eddies reponded with a 17-point second quarter to take a 23-21 advantage to the locker room at halftime.
Berrien Springs reclaimed the lead in the third quarter and headed to the final stanza with a 33-31 advantage.
The Shamrocks outscored the Eddies 9-2 in the final eight minutes to earn the Lakeland Conference victory.
Jake Harroff led Edwardsburg (1-2, 0-2 Lakeland) with 14 points, while Dustin Moore and Josh Kozinski each finished with four points.
Berrien Springs was paced by Mark Westendorp and Oluwaseunt Idowu’s 12-points.
The Eddies return to action on Monday, Dec. 28 when they compete in the White Pigeon Holiday Tournament.
Edwardsburg is scheduled to play Union City in the opening round at 5 p.m.
The championship and consolation games will be played on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
