“Dowagiac’s Cardinal Charlie Remembers,” a 540-page book 18 years in the making with a title suggested by his kindergarten teacher, Dorothy Lee Armin, collects 297 of Charlie Gill’s Daily News columns.
It is now in its fourth printing. Books are available at Olympia Books or through the author at 782-2992.
Gill, a 1948 Dowagiac graduate, started working at James Heddon’s Sons while still in high school. His first column in 1989 was about his coal stove.
