Berrien Center woman hurt after losing control in slush

CASSOPOLIS – Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood reports that a single-car accident with injuries occurred in Pokagon Township on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 5:37 p.m.
Sydney Mead, 20, of Berrien Center, was eastbound on Crystal Springs Street near Indian Lake Road when she lost control of her vehicle in the slush.

Her vehicle crossed the roadway and struck trees on the north side of the road.
Mead was transported to Lakeland Hospital.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident.

A seatbelt was not used.

Cass County was assisted by Pokagon Tribal Police, Pokagon Fire and Coloma EMS.
This incident remains under investigation.
