Barbara Brelsford Price Deuel, 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Dowagiac on Nov. 25, 2009.

She was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Chicago.

Her parents were Charles Keller Price and Isadore Brelsford Price.

The family moved to Dowagiac in 1941, where Barbara graduated from Dowagiac High School and later from Northwestern University.

She was married Feb. 19, 1949, to James Leslie Deuel (divorced 1979) in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Dowagiac.

Barbara worked at Motorola corporate headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill., for 15 years before she retired to Dowagiac in 1991.

She was predeceased by her children Thomas Keller Deuel and Jean Toby Deuel in 1972.
She is survived by her brother Charles Keller Price Jr. of Dowagiac, her daughters Nancy Deuel Toby of St. Michaels, Md., and Peggy Deuel Harper of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; two nephews; and a niece.

A memorial service was held on Monday, Dec. 7, at 11 o’clock at Yazel and Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac.
