COVERT – What was merely an idea one year ago is now reality as the Covert Branch of Van Buren District Library moves into a new building.
According to Library Director David Tate, the current branch at 33880 M-140 will be closed Saturday, Dec. 5, in anticipation of moving the library’s collection to the new facility on Monday, Dec. 7. Tate says the new library covers 5,500 square feet, which is 4,000 more square feet than the current location.
According to Covert Township Supervisor Barbara J. Rose, “This is the first new building in downtown Covert since 1978. The new library will be a great addition.”
