Three from Buchanan arrested for drugs

Three Buchanan residents were arrested Thursday on possession of cocaine.

On Thursday, at approximately 7:20 p.m. the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit with assistance from the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Niles Township Road Patrol, the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Road Patrol, and the United States Drug Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant for illegal narcotics at 401 Woodland Drive in Niles Township.

This search warrant execution was the result of a several month long investigation conducted by the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit into suspected narcotic activity at this residence.

At the time of the search warrant execution, the officers located Melinda Kay Fisher, 38, Carveail Roy Miles, 28 and Donna Kaye Fisher, 63,  of that address, inside of the residence.

During a search of the residence, the officers seized approximately $2,400 (street value) of crack cocaine and other evidence of illegal narcotic trafficking.

The officers also seized $2,572 in U.S. Currency, three cell phones, a small all-terrain vehicle, and a 1992 Buick LeSabre under the State of Michigan’s Civil Forfeiture Law.
Melinda Fisher was charged with Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Deliver 2nd Offense, Maintaining a Drug House 2nd Offense and Parole Violation Detainer.

Miles was charged with Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Deliver, Maintaining a Drug House 2nd Offense and Parole Violation Detainer.

Both Melinda Fisher and Miles are currently on parole through the State of Michigan’s Department of Corrections. She is on parole for a previous narcotic related conviction and Miles is on parole for a previous conviction of Assault with Intent to Rob while Armed.

Donna Fisher was charged with Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Deliver and Maintaining a Drug House.

All three subjects were lodged at the Berrien County Jail pending their arraignments in the Berrien County Trial Courts.
