Faith Victory Church in Buchanan, has been doing a monthly outreach in Niles the past several months. They are doing a free food give away once a month at the Northside School in Niles, with the next one this Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

They have been able to give out bags of food, fresh produce, baked goods, and even some miscellaneous items such as little girls cloths; insulated coolers, blankets, and flannel shirts, as long as supplies last.

The outreach has grown from maybe 50 people to more than 120. Donations from area farmers, local stores, and the food bank in our area have been a huge help, but still the demand grows.

They would like to continue this outreach on a monthly basis, and would both welcome any donations of canned foods, or finances. Contact Jann Mitchell at 695-1091 if you would like to get involved in this outreach. Families are really hurting, and the heating season is just around the corner.
