Woman falls to her death at Camp Bellowood in Union

CASSOPOLIS — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Pamela Martin, 55, of Union.
At approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, deputies were called to Camp Bellowood on U.S. 12 in Porter Township, Union, after 911 Central Dispatch received a phone call from the husband of the victim, Bobby Martin, 55, reporting his wife had fallen from a second-story balcony of their residence (an apartment at the campground).
Upon arrival they found the woman in the driveway below the balcony.
Porter Township ambulance transported the victim to Elkhart, Ind., General Hospital, where she later was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was performed on the victim at Elkhart General Hospital on Friday, Sept. 11.
It was determined that the victim died from injuries sustained in the fall.
An investigation by Cass County sheriff’s detectives is ongoing at this time to determine the exact manner of the victim’s death.
