The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Outstate Michigan awarded Jade Lee of Berrien Springs High School with a college scholarship.

Based on her financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement, Jade Lee and nine other scholarship recipients were chosen from an applicant pool of nearly 400 students statewide. Each recipient will receive $2,000 a year for four years.

A large portion of the scholarship funding was received from change collected in the RMHC donation boxes at local McDonald’s restaurants.

The scholarships were awarded on Wednesday, July 29 at RMHC’s annual scholarship banquet in Ada, Michigan.

The keynote speaker for the scholarship banquet was Dean Marsha D. Rappley, M.D. from the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University.
