Niles woman named director of sales

ATLANTA, Ga. — Atlanta-based Hotel Equities (HE) recently named Susan Morris-Dawson to the position of Director of Sales for the Hilton Garden Inn-Elkhart. The 85-room hotel is located at 3401 Plaza Court in Elkhart, Ind.

Morris-Dawson has responsibility for initiating sales and implementing the marketing strategy for both corporate and leisure market sales for the hotel.  She generates new business and builds relationships with clients by capitalizing on the hotel’s amenities and services. Morris-Dawson works closely with Nathan Knightes, the hotel’s general manager.

“Susan has excellent marketing and sales experience and she knows the local market,” said Elizabeth Derby, Director of Sales and Marketing for Hotel Equities. “Her enthusiasm for guest service will contribute to her success.  We’re delighted to have her on our sales team.”
Morris-Dawson brings 15 years of sales experience to her position. Prior to joining Hotel Equities, she served as Assistant to the President of Focus Hospitality with responsibility for public relations and marketing. She began her hospitality career on the front desk and then continued in sales for the Indian Oak Inn in Chesterton, Ind.

Morris-Dawson studied marketing at Ball State University. Active in her community, she volunteers for Habitat for Humanity. She has earned recognition as Ambassador of the Year from two different chambers of commerce.

She and her husband Greg now reside in Niles. In her free time, she enjoys watching professional baseball, the outdoors, and traveling.
