To the editor:
We would like to thank all the local businesses and members of our community that helped to make Project Homeless Connect on Aug. 26, 2009 such a huge success. Thanks to the many generous donations we were able to help over 60 individuals and families for a total of 188 people from the Niles area.
We would like to say a special “Thank You” to the following local businesses for donating food, hygiene items, ice cream, hair cuts and a variety of other items that made this Project Homeless Connect a success: Afdent, Christian Service Center, Creative Cuts, Dr. Beckermeyer, Dr. Beistle & Dr. Jilek, Dee’s Hair Design Studio, Eagles Lodge 2094, Harding’s in Buchanan, Hasse’s Towing and Crane, Hob Nob, Hot Dog’s Plus, Kozy Kitchen, Krispy Kreme, Lorenzo Estate Properties LLC, Lowery’s, Mancino’s, Martin’s Supermarket, Milano’s Pizza, Off Main Street Salon, Papa Johns Pizza, Paris Soda Shop, Pizza Hut, Prime Table, Dr. Rusher, Rise N Shine, Roger’s Barbershop, Save A Lot, Small Smiles-South Bend, Veni’s Sweet Shop, Wal-Mart, Wing’s Etc., Dr. Wyant and Dr. Gourlay.
We would also like to thank the many volunteers who came out to help. When so many have so little, it is wonderful to see the support that our community has for those who are in need. It truly makes us proud to be part of the Niles community.
