ELKHART, Ind. – The Michiana Career Network Association (MCNA), in conjunction with the Michiana Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), will be offering an exposition on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 9  a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Matterhorn Conference Center in Elkhart, the purpose of which is to help Michiana’s unemployed prepare themselves for today’s tough job market.

The Employment Resource Expo features numerous booths with employment experts from various disciplines offering insightful information for both professional and non-professional individuals who have been displaced, are entering the job market for the first time, or are looking at changing career paths. Each booth on the main floor will entertain different employment categories such as: resumé reviews and interviewing techniques, skills assessments, personal marketing tools, financial counseling services, employment and education resources, and much more.

And, throughout the day at the top of each hour, area business leaders will be presenting breakout seminars covering such topical information as: How to market yourself, networking with target employers, conducting your job search campaign, moving from grief to action, and others.

Also, the Matterhorn will have food and refreshments available to participants in a separate “networking” room, where people can freely mingle and network with others.
The Employment Resource Expo is available to any person who is currently seeking employment. And although participants can register on-site, due to limited seminar seating MCNA encourages those interested in attending the event to pre-register on the MCNA website to reserve a place in the seminars.  Please note that the Expo is not a jobs fair, so there will be no formal activities with employers.

The Matterhorn Conference Center is located at 2041 Cassopolis Street (S.R. 19), in Elkhart. For more information, visit www.mymcna.com.
