Freddie L. Wilson , 80, of Platt Street, Niles, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Riveridge Manor, Niles.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with Chaplain Johnny Groda of In House Hospice, officiating.

Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles.

Friends may call one hour prior to services on Thursday.

He was born on July 19, 1929, in Memphis, Tenn., to Willie Wilson and Vanada McKenny Wilson.

He lived in Niles since 1948, coming from Arkansas. He retired from Electrovoice in Buchanan.

On Oct. 8, 1950, in Niles, he married Charlene P. (Jeffries) Wilson, who died on April 15, 2005.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Tracy L. Wilson, who died on Nov. 17, 2003.
Surviving family includes two sons, Britt I. Wilson of Amsterdam, Netherlands and Jerome F. (Lisa Hassinger, DVM) Wilson of Williamston; granddaughters, Erin L. Wilson, Magdalena Wilson, Hanna Zarbinian, and Arianna Zarbinian; grandsons, Justin C. Wilson and Jesse Wilson; a special grandson, Levi Goens; great-granddaughters, Annalise Wilson and Natalia Suddeth and a great-grandson, Justin Wilson, Jr.
