Greutman, Manion win 5K run; Koch, Phillips take walk titles

Nearly 150 runners took part in the Third Annual Cat Tracks 5K Trail Run/Walk, which finished on the brand new Brandywine High School track.

The Cat Tracks event was originally a fundraiser for the new facility at the high school.
Saturday’s third installment drew 142 runners and walkers.

Ryan Greutman of South Bend, Ind. was the overall 5K run winner as he ran a time of 16:30.

Katherine Manion of South Bend was the first women’s 5K run finisher with a time of 20:00, which was good for 10th place overall.

Julie Koch of St. Joseph was overall 5K walk winner with a time of 37:16. David Phillips of Eau Claire was the first male across the finish line with a time of 37:25, which was second overall.

“All the proceeds from this event will go to the Brandywine track and field program for equipment for our track,” race director Al Price said. “Home meets at Brandywine will return for the first time since 1995. I wish to thank all the runners and walkers who participated in this fundraising event.”
