With the ground recently leveled, graded and ready for the next step, marked visual improvement has been made at the future home site of the Edwardsburg Sports Complex (ESC).

Many dedicated volunteers and area businesses have continued to complete several construction tasks to accomplish more milestones in its quest to build “a field of dreams” in the community. Located near the Edwardsburg School Complex, this permanent home for youth sports has broken ground on the first practice fields. With excavation of the site finished, the temporary development should be completed by the end of this month. Other updates at this time include electricity to be supplied to the building structure, the installation of a new well and irrigation for all playing surfaces, and grass seed planted on the grounds.

As the local youth sports leagues continue to grow, participants and their families will directly benefit from this complex located on the spacious 102 acres of land along US 12. Plans for the Edwardsburg Sports Complex include football, baseball, softball, and soccer fields and a fitness trail. Adequate parking, indoor restroom facilities, and large concession stands are also included in the plans.

Of the $3.58 million needed donations, pledges, and in-kind donations exceeding over $1.7 million dollars have been secured thus far for this grassroots project.

Additional financial support is needed to take the next steps in the completion of the project. Pledges can be made at many different levels. Contributions are accepted in person or through the link on the website.
