Theresa D. Johnson, 59, of Elkhart, Ind. formerly of Edwardsburg, died on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at 3:48 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Ind.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday Aug. 6, at Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Road; Edwardsburg, with Pastor Jeff Reese and Minister Lee Fowler officiating.

Burial will be in Edwardsburg Cemetery, Edwardsburg.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 5 at the church.

She was born on June 20, 1950 in South Bend, Ind., to Philip and Elsie (Roelandts) Fowler.

She moved to Elkhart, Ind. in 2003, after residing in Edwardsburg, for more than 23 years.

She was a dedicated homemaker

Theresa was a 1969 graduate of Niles High School. She attended Hope United Methodist Church in Edwardsburg.

She enjoyed collecting Snoopy and Precious Memories memorabilia and was very fond of animals. She had a great love for her family and especially her grandchildren. Theresa will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

On July 10, 1971, she married Jeff L. Johnson, who survives in Elkhart, Ind.
Additional survivors include two children, Jeff Jr. (Rhonda) Johnson of Edwardsburg, and Elsa (Arturo) Salinas of Elkhart, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Deion, Zachary, Sean, Wesley, Brett, Kayla, Candi, and Justice; her mother, Elsie Fowler formerly of Mishawaka, currently of New Carlise, Ind.; three brothers: Fred (Helen) Fowler of Niles, Robert (Carole) Fowler of Las Vegas, Nev. and Leroy (Connie) Fowler of Elkhart, Ind.; two sisters, Phyllis (Gene) Lee of Mishawaka, Ind. and Gerry (James) DeCraene of Niles, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Philip Fowler and a brother, Richard Fowler.
