Michael H. Grahl, 66, of Cassopolis, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009 at 8:12 p.m. in his home surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 6,  at 2 p.m. in the Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis. Officiating will be the Rev. Mike Smith, Pastor of  Hope Community Church, Niles.

Interment will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville.

The family received friends on Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

He was born Aug. 29, 1942 in Niles, the son of the late Frank and Nettie (Stratton) Grahl, Sr., and was a lifetime area resident.

He married the former Russelle A. Stahl on Aug. 5, 1961, in Cassopolis, and she survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Richard (Janie) Grahl of Niles and Roger (Tammy) Grahl of Dowagiac, a daughter, Pamela (Roger) Sova of Dowagiac, five grandchildren, Derek Grahl, Ashley Grahl, Chelsea Grahl, Tara Sova and Austen Sova; two sisters, Judy (Larry) Mihills of Niles, and Sharon (Roger) Huchendubler of Manistee, and a brother, Frank (Lois) Grahl, Jr. of Niles.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Grahl.

Mike was a retired owner/operator of Grahl and Son Well Drilling in Cassopolis. He was a member of the North American Fishing Club. He loved camping, fishing and spending time in the outdoors with his family.

Memorials may be made to the family or Hospice At Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
