There are many events taking place in the Four Flags Area during the month of August.
Before you know it the Labor Day weekend will be here and back to school for the students is fast approaching. The long weekends and summer vacations for families will be coming to a close and autumn will begin. So get out and enjoy all the fun activities and things there are to do. You will find something for everyone.

Aug. 6, Beckwith Park Summer Concert Series presents the Goldmine Pickers, specializing in Bluegrass, Irish & Folk Music, to be held at the Haggin-Wimberley Memorial Bandstand located in downtown Dowagiac.

Aug. 6-9, Riverfest  – Join the excitement with live music, food, arts and crafts, car show, dragon boats; raft race, kiddie rides & games, and other activities located at the  Riverfront Park Niles.

Aug. 6 and 13, Buchanan Summer Concerts at the Commons on Thursday evening free to the public, located at the Commons Downtown Buchanan.

Aug. 7-9, US 12 Heritage Route Garage Sale – the states longest garage sale 212 miles of antiques, collectibles, and treasures. Plan your drive and plan to have fun shopping, eating and hunting for treasures. A bargain hunter’s dream www.us12heritagetrail.org
Aug. 7-15, Murders in the Heir turn the game Clue into a play and you have the masterfully entertaining “Murder’s in the Heir!” Almost every character in this hilarious mystery has the weapon, opportunity and motive to commit the unseen murder. It’s up to you the audience to decide who actually did it! Located at the Tin Shop Theatre in Buchanan.

Aug. 9, Second Sunday Classical Concert Series Come to Fernwood on the second Sunday of each month (May through September) for their WAUS Classical Concert Series featuring various classical artists, located in Niles.

Aug. 13, Consignment Auction at Big Bear Auction Company located in Eau Claire.
Aug. 13, Beckwith Park Summer Concert Series presents Carl Payne, featuring Celtic & Irish music.  To be held at the Haggin-Wimberley Memorial Bandstand located in downtown Dowagiac.

Aug. 13: From Bill Haley to Buddy Holly: The Dawn of Rock and Roll, Music Historian Allen Snyder employs a multi-media format to trace the history of American rock and roll music from its origins in blues, country folk, gospel and jazz to its full development in the late 1950s. Located at the History Center at Courthouse Square in Berrien Springs.
Aug. 15, Rod & Roll Classic Auto Show activities begin at 7:30, enjoy music from the 50s, pancake breakfast, flea market, dance contest and performances, auto games, barbeque all while enjoying classic cars and motorcycles in downtown Dowagiac.

Aug. 17-21, Berrien County Youth Fair – This is the largest youth fair in the Midwest.  Carnival rides, food, animal exhibits, and live music and a whole lot more located in Berrien Springs.

Aug. 20, Beckwith Park Summer Concert Series presents a rescheduled performance by Irish favorite Fonn Mor, to be held at the Haggin-Wimberley Memorial Bandstand located in downtown Dowagiac.

Aug. 21-30, Forbidden Broadway is an Off-Broadway satirical revue created and written by Gerard Alessandrini. The show is a cabaret revue sharply spoofing show tunes, characters and plots of contemporary and current Broadway musicals located at the Beckwith Theatre in Dowagiac.

Aug. 28-30, Old Mill Fest – 5k challenge run, parade, live music, classic car cruising, great food, craft booths, demonstrations and contests, located downtown at The Commons in Buchanan.

Aug. 29-30, Annual Harvest Party at Round Barn Winery – Come help us celebrate the Harvest season! Enjoy live music, grape stomping, hayrides and more located in Baroda.
