Judy VanFossen, 68, of Dowagiac, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

Judy’s life began on April 2, 1941, in Grand Haven, the daughter of Wiley and Patricia P. (Schoulten) VanFossen.

She was a 1959 graduate of Dowagiac Central High School.

Judy served her country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Judy had been employed by the Rudy Stove Co.y, Jessup Door and at the Cass County courthouse.

She was a member of Cass County Post 1855 of the VFW.

Her family includes: her sisters, Lynn (Chester) Bonine of Dowagiac, Joan (Ken) Sisk of Texas and Jerie Christensen of Dowagiac; and brother Phillip “Red” Schoulten of Dowagiac.

Judy passed away at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo on July 30, 2009.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; and two brothers, Jim Schoulten and Bob Van Austen.

Judy will be laid to rest in South Wayne Cemetery during a private graveside ceremony led by Pastor Justin Shepard.
