Niles softball honored before Silver Hawks game
The Niles varsity softball team, Division 2 state champions, will be honored on Sunday at Stanley Coveleski Stadium.

Sunday is Niles-Buchanan day at the Cove.

The team and the coaches will be introduced prior to the start of the game.
South Bend will be taking on Peoria at 2 p.m.

Ring Lardner conditioning program begins Aug. 3
Conditioning for the Niles Ring Ladner fall sports teams will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning Aug. 3.

Conditioning will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. and will continue through Aug. 28.

The conditioning program is aimed at both boys and girls who are thinking about participating in football, soccer and volleyball at Ring Lardner this coming fall.

The program is also open to those who would like to get a good workout.

Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing and a pair of running shoes. Conditioning drills will be held on the North practice field.

Niles hosting wrestling camp Aug. 3-6
A youth wrestling camp featuring the University of Wisconsin head wrestling coach Barry Davis will be held at Niles High School Aug. 3-6.

Registration will be held Aug. 3 beginning at 9 a.m. at the high school. Cost of the camp is $150 per wrestler.

The camp is for wrestlers ages 10 and up and will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Buchanan tennis practice to begin Aug. 12
BUCHANAN – Boys’ tennis practice for Buchanan will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Practices will be held Aug. 12-14 from 7-9 a.m. and again at 4-6 p.m.

You must have a completed physical to practice.

MCSA Labor Day 5k run/5k Walk Sept. 7
MCSC Labor Day 5k Run / 5k Walk to be held on the grounds of Michiana Christian Service Camp in Niles on Monday, Sept. 7 at 9 a.m.

Cost is $12 if registered before Aug. 14 and $15 after that date.

Race T-shirt guaranteed if registered by Aug.14.
