BUCHANAN – On Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at McCoy Creek Park, local residents are being invited to join their neighbors for the Annual National Night Out Against Crime.

The event includes a community picnic, musical entertainment by the Doug Leiter band, a police dunk tank, youth activities, and community fellowship.

The Michigan Community Blood Centers will host a blood drive from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

The first 100 kids who attend will receive a Frisbee.

Residents who are unable to attend are asked to turn on their porch lights to show support.

Wal-Mart in Niles is just one of the many generous benefactors which make this popular event possible.

Chief of Police Bill Marx and the Buchanan Police officers welcome others to come celebrate with the community.
