John Lewis Dickinson, 66, of Cecil Street, Buchanan, died at 4:25 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009, at Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.

Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, at a later date.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 29, at the funeral home.

He was born on May 25, 1943, in Buchanan, to James and Norma Dickinson and was a lifetime resident.

He ran the trimming press at Buchanan Steel.

On Dec. 31, 1966, in Buchanan, he married Pauline Dickinson, who survives in Buchanan.

Additional surviving family include a daughter, Michelle Brown of Niles; grandchildren, Jessica Dickinson, Paris Dickinson, Brittany Dickinson, Danny Risener III, Alec Brown, Travis Risener and Nashawn Brown; a great-grandson, Chrishawn Woods; a brother, Richard Dickinson of Baroda and sister, Lenora Lynch of South Bend, Ind., Barbara Draper of Buchanan and Rosemary Hogan of New Port, Ark.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, James and Norma Dickinson; a daughter, Nancy Risener, in 2007; and two brothers, James Dickinson in 2002 and Billy Dickinson in 1955.

Memorials may be made to the family.
