Donnabell Mae Tighe, 81, of Edwardsburg, died at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis, after an illness.

Funeral services was held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, at the Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Road, Edwardsburg, with the Rev. Jeff Reese, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Edwardsburg Cemetery.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.

She was born on Aug. 6, 1927, in Niles.

She was a waitress at Four Flags in Niles, wrapped butter at Michigan Creamery and was a housewife.

She lived in this area all of her life.

On July 17, 1944, in Crown Point, Ind., as Donnabell M. Hydorn, she married Edwards S. Tighe, who survives.

Additional surviving family include a daughter, Theresa (Jim) Meiser of Dowagiac; sons, Edward (Deene) Tighe, Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., John (Vickie) Tighe of Dowagiac, Rick (Jaacque) Tighe of Edwardsburg,, Todd (Penny) Tighe of Cassopolis and Randy (Jenny) Tighe of Edwardsburg; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Barrs of Edwardsburg; sisters, Isabelle DeSchaaf of Phoenix, Ariz. And Leah Brown of Edwardsburg and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the family.
