Denise Ann Leich, 55, of Clark Street, Niles, died on Saturday, July 11, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, with the Rev. Kyle Gardner of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Niles, officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at the funeral home.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1953, in Niles to George and Patricia Hattenbach.
She was a lifetime resident.
She worked at Greater Niles Community Credit Union in new accounts.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Niles.
She was team captain for the Relay for Life “The Greater Niles Stars” for the credit union, website: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=14519.
She was also a former ambassador for the Four Flags Chamber of Commerce; Main Street Downtown Development and was a Lunch Buddy for Niles Big Brothers Big Sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Patricia Hattenbach.
She leaves a fiancee, Bill Gutschow of Niles; a son, Christopher (Jennifer) Leich of Niles; a brother, Jim (Jackie) Hattenbach of Buchanan; a sister, Lori (Ed) Orris of Edwardsburg; and beloved nieces and nephews.
She had a special bond with her grandmother, Edna Bromley. She will also be greatly missed by her family, friends and a special friend, Vickey McCrory.
Memorials may be made to the Cass County Relay for Life, c/o Greater Niles Community Credit Union.
