United Federal Credit Union will hold ground breaking ceremonies on today, for its new branch that will be constructed at 2100 S. 11th Street in Niles. This will be the second United branch in the Niles market.  The first branch in Niles, located at the corner of Sycamore and Front streets underwent an extensive renovation in 2008.  Construction  on the new branch is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2010. Features of the 4008 square foot facility will include a four-lane drive-up canopy, state-of-the-art technology, security and video surveillance systems, and video conferencing capabilities.  The branch design will offer a pod system to allow for more personal member-staff interactions.
Participating in the ceremonies will be representatives from Niles Charter Township, Four Flags Chamber of Commerce, Sharon Tyler, 78th  State Representative, VRA Architects, Fiskars Construction, as well as United Federal Credit Union management and board representatives.
