The engagement of Jessica Shotwell of Edwardsburg, and Ben Mertz of South Bend, Ind. is announced.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of John and Lorraine Shotwell, of Edwardsburg. She graduated from Edwardsburg High School in 2004 and Bethel College in 2008. She works in the Early Childhood Development Center, Notre Dame, Ind.
The prospective groom is the son of Roger and Dorothy Mertz, of Goshen, Ind. He graduated from Goshen High School, Rose Hulman (undergrad), and the University of Notre Dame (graduate), where he is now employed.
They plan to marry on Nov. 7, 2009 at Rivervalley Church, Mishawaka, Ind.
