Borgess honored for patient care

Borgess Medical Center has received the Overall Best Performer Award for its patient satisfaction.
The award is given by Avatar International, Inc. to the hospitals whose combined patient satisfaction score for Inpatient, Outpatient, Ambulatory Surgery and Emergency are among the top 5 percent nationally. This award was for the calendar year 2008.
"As a result of our staff's compassion and diligence, Borgess Medical Center's ranking continues to climb among hospitals nationwide," said Shahin Motakef, Executive VP &Chief Operating Officer, Borgess Hospitals &Extended Care Division.
"Although the Best Performer Award is based on 2008 results, BMC has continued to be among the top hospitals in the nation in 2009. Among the Avatar Survey's Core Items – those that really go to the heart of what makes patients satisfied – Borgess Medical Center's score has risen from 90.54 in 2008 to 90.69 so far this year."
