Charles Osman ‘Ossie’ Ziegler /1936-2009

Charles Osman "Ossie" Ziegler, 73, of Maple Lane Niles, died suddenly of natural causes at 5:05 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at his cottage in Hillman.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles. A brief service will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.
He was born on Jan. 5, 1936, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, to Osman F. and Mary Esther (Newbanks) Ziegler. He graduated from Niles High School and in 1966, he graduated from Western Michigan University.
He retired as a credit manager from Clark Equipment Company and also from Old Kent Bank.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as a radio corpsman and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 51 in Buchanan.
He enjoyed hunting, Fishing, trap shooting, and working in the garden.
He also belonged to a 'Rod' Club building hot rods for racing.
Surviving family includes his daughter, Marna (Igor) Tarducci of Novi; grandchildren, Nadia and Enzo Tarducci; a sister, Patricia Christner of Niles; nephews, Todd and Damon and a very best friend, Duane (Barbara) Durflinger.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice At Home, 4025 Health Park, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
