Niles’ Chris Noble 2nd at Division 2 state golf finals

Niles sophomore Chris Noble will go into today's final round of the Division 2 State Golf Tournament at The Meadows in Allendale tied for second place.
Noble shot an 18-hole total of 73, which is one stroke behind first day leader Alex Zanetti of Orchard Lake St. Marys.
"He's got his work cut out for him," Niles coach Greg Gunder said. "But he played well today."
Noble said that he was three under par after seven holes, but got a couple of bad breaks.
"Today went very well," Noble said in a telephone interview. "I had a couple of bad breaks, but I had two birdies to finish the round."
Notre Dame Prep is the team leader after the first day of competition as it shot a 316.
Noble advanced to the state finals after earning medalist honors at the regional on May 30.
Noble shot a 71 at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek.
