HOLLAND – Dowagiac sophomore Kaisha Martin brought home a fourth place finish on Saturday from the Division 2 MHSAA Lower Peninsula Track &Field Finals at Zeeland High School.
Martin ran a time of 12.88 to take fourth, which earned her second team All-State status.
"Kaisha hates to lose and that's one of the things that makes her so successful," Dowagiac coach Ken Jordan said. "She was disappointed with her finish, but there is no shame in finishing fourth in your sophomore season. If she keeps working hard, she has quite a future ahead of her."
None of Niles' competitors place in the state meet.
Competing for the Lady Vikings were Baysia Cox in the shot put and discus, Maddie Rodts in the 800-meters, Andrew Wortham in the 400-meters and the 3,200-meter relay team.
That team consisted of Taylor Brandstatter, Anne Tyler, Rodts and Liz VandenHeede.
Edwardsburg's Lanie Ford also failed to place in the shot put or discus.
Division 4
Cassopolis' Chastity Williams finished sixth in the 100-meters with a time of 13.16.
