Mowitt S. Drew, 90, former Niles Mayor and city attorney, died at 9:31 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Lakeland-Saint Joseph of a brief illness.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 1, at the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
There will be no public funeral as private family services will be held.
Mr. Drew was the 1950-51 City of Niles Attorney and Mayor of Niles from 1956-1964. He also was a member of the Board of Public Works from 1984-1998.
He practiced law with his brother-in-law, the late Edwin Donahue and also his two sons at the Drew Law Office.
Survivors include sons, M. Sherman (Nancy) Drew of Niles and Sean (Liz) Drew of Buchanan and a daughter, Johanna Drew of Niles.
