Harold Lee Kendrick, 76, of Niles passed away at his home on Thursday, May 21, 2009.
A time of visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 25, at Brown Funeral Home with funeral services at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, May 26, at the funeral home.
An interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles with the Buchanan American Legion Honors.
Harold was born on Dec. 12, 1932 in Okalona, Miss. to the late John and Fay (White) Kendrick.
He was survived by three sons: Tiffany Lee Kendrick of Niles, Timothy Edward (Mary Beth) Kendrick of Hudson, Ind., and Kevin Harold (Mary Beth) Kendrick of Beaumont, Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan Kendrick of Gulf Port, Miss., Jessica Kendrick of Seattle, Wash., Ian, Bethany, and Andrew Kendrick all of Beaumont, Texas, and a sister, Ruth Fore of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Johnny Kendrick and a sister, Charlene Stefan.
Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army; he served his time during the Korean War. He retired from the Teamsters local 364 of South Bend, Ind. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and hunting and most of all watching and feeding the birds that visited his garden.
