Vikings sweep Comets

The Niles varsity baseball team swept visiting Coloma on Saturday.
The Vikings defeated the Comets 17-2 and 8-4 to improve to 17-3 overall.
Niles, ranked No. 10 in the latest Division 1 poll, scored nine runs in the first inning and never looked back in the opening game on Saturday.
Mikie Simpson was 3-for-3 with a triple and five RBIs, while David Garner was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a double.
Matthew McLaughlin also had two hits and two RBIs, while Andrew Brawley doubled.
Kevin Gross earned the victory as he allowed four hits and struck out five.
In the second game, Niles scored two runs in the second and third inning, three runs in the fourth and a run in the fifth to account for its runs.
The Vikings finished with seven hits, led by Rashad Harris' home run and Taylor Campbell's double.
Alec Taylor picked up the mound victory as he allowed one earned run and struck out four.
