JV baseball team splits pair with Comstock

The Dowagiac junior varsity baseball team split a home doubleheader with Comstock on Tuesday.
Dowagiac had to come-from-behind to win the opening game 10-9.
The Chieftains led 5-1 at one point, but in the needed a rally in the final inning to pull out the win.
Four consecutive singles to open the seventh led to the rally.
Mike Pranschke's two-run single knotted the game at 9-9 and Tony Brooks scored the winning run on a wild pitch.
Pranschke had three hits for the Chieftains and drove in three runs. Jacob Williams also had three hits, while Cody Carnell and Brooks each had a pair of singles.
The Chieftains dropped the nightcap 10-1.
Mike Bennett had a double and a single for Dowagiac, which also got a triple from Carnell.
Dowagiac will host Plainwell on Friday.
