BUCHANAN – The Niles junior varsity baseball team opened its season on Thursday with a 7-6 win over host Buchanan in extra innings.
Taylor Campbell earned the win in relief for the Vikings.
Campbell struck out six and allowed just two hits over four innings of work.
Offensively for Niles, Dustin Purcell had an RBI double, while Logan Harpenau, Nate Oats and Campbell all had singles.
The Vikings are back in action on April 2 when they host Dowagiac.
