Roach wins title

Dowagiac's Ricky Roach captured a Michigan High School Powerlifting State Championship on Saturday at Whitmore Lake High School.
Austin Adams and Adam Roach also competed in the MHSPLA event.
Ricky Roach won the 194-pound state title in junior varsity competition against freshmen and sophomore lifters.
Roach squatted 355-pounds, benched 265-pounds and had a deadlift of 425-pounds for a total of 1,045.
He competed against 15 other weightlifters.
Adams finished third in the junior varsity 165-pound class.
He squat 375, benched 215 and had a deadlift of 420-pounds for a total of 1,010.
Adam Roach also took third in the varsity Super Heavy division.
He had a squat of 520, a bench of 335 and a deadlift of 495 for a total of 1,350-pounds.
"The guys did a great job," Dowagiac coach Mike Stanger said.
