Too bad dream isn’t true

To the Editor:
I had a dream last night.
Yes, I really did have a dream last night.
I dreamed that I was riding in my car all around the Michiana area, and the roads were nice and smooth.
I couldn't help but notice that they were not new or freshly paved roads, but were patched everywhere.
I was so amazed that such a beautiful job was done to patch up all the potholes and imperfections in our roads.
How great this thing was.
Someone had come up with a new method to do up our roads the right way once and for all.
Then, I woke up and realized that it was all just a dream.
As I drove along in my car today, punishing the suspension on my car, my tires kept falling into all the potholes.
Then I came across a section of road that had just been taken care of by "two men, a truck and a shovel."
My nice, year-old car was now strewing hundreds, if not thousands, of tar-coated pebbles everywhere, some even bouncing off my windshield. This was not part of any dream.
Isn't there a better way?
