Cassopolis FFA’s team keep bringing home trophies

CASSOPOLIS – The Cassopolis FFA competed at the Region I FFA Leadership Contests Thursday, Feb. 19 at Homer High School. All four leadership teams and individuals from Cassopolis received gold awards and will compete at the state contests at the Michigan FFA Convention in East Lansing in March.
Team members are from area schools, including Niles.
The Agricultural Issues team placed first and advances to the state finals, as did the Greenhand Conduct of Meetings team.
Cassopolis swept the Junior High Conduct of Meetings contest with teams placing both first and second in that competition. Placing first was the Corn Gold team and placing second was the National Blue team.
In the Prepared Public Speaking contest, Tiffany Rogers of Niles placed second and will compete in the state semi-finals. Tiffany is also a candidate running for a Michigan State Officer position.
Micheala Lee competed in the Greenhand Public Speaking event and placed fourth, earning a gold award.
