Elyse Jean Ver Berkmoes of Lansing married Adam Baldwin Walter on Oct. 11, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs.
The bride graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 2002 and from Michigan State University in 2006.
She is employed as a communication specialist with the Michigan Community Service Commission.
Her parents are Robert and Deborah Ver Berkmoes of Cheboygan, formerly of Dowagiac.
The groom graduated from Bridgman High School in 2000 and from MSU in 2004.
He is a police officer.
Parents of the groom are Dave and Beth McNeil of Bridgman and Gary and Judy Walter of Galien.
Pastor Gary Miller officiated their wedding. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Robert Ver Berkmoes.
Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Erin Ver Berkmoes of Petoskey.
Bridesmaids included Emily Money of Mt. Clemens, Nicole Campbell of Lansing and Alyssa VanWerden of Petoskey.
Josh Walter of Sacramento, Calif., served as best man.
Groomsmen included Ben Reynnells of St. Joseph, Jeff Stine of Schaumberg, Ill., Grady O'Brien of Bridgman and Dusty Henderson of Louis-ville, Ky.
Ushers were Scott Walter of Ypsilanti and Tyler VanWerden of Petoskey.
Their reception took place at Lake Michigan Hills in Benton Harbor with music by McFly's DJ Service.
They are at home in Lansing after a wedding trip to Mackinac Island.
