BATTLE CREEK – Mike Connors of Buchanan earned a Division 3 regional championship on Saturday at Pennfield High School.
Connors edged Garrett Woods of Marshall 9-6 to win the 215-pound title.
Connors, along with teammates Drew Medlin, Adam Byrdak and Robert Riggs will all compete in the state finals later this month at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Medlin was fourth at 135-pounds after he defaulted due to injury to Wes Pieper of Onsted.
Brydak was fourth at 145-pounds as he was pinned by Corey Lay of Erie-Mason, while Riggs was fourth at 285-pounds following his loss to Gauge Amberiod of Onsted.
Edwardsburg's Alex Steinke finished third at 171-pounds as he defeated Reilly Goodman of Marshall to advance.
Dowagiac's Sinjin Ownby failed to advance at 215-pounds.
