Workshop Saturday at Lowe Foundation

CASSOPOLIS – The Cass County Board of Commissioners will hold a workshop on Saturday, Feb. 28, to receive reports on local and state issues.
The board meets at the Edward Lowe Foundation in Cassopolis from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Kimberly A. Luther, parole/probation manager, Michigan Department of Corrections and Bail Bondsman Greg Price will talk about the Michigan Prisoner Re-entry Program.
This program is designed to reduce the number of individuals in state prisons.
Grants and Project Manager Sandy Gower will talk about the Economic Development Corp.'s plan to assist individuals who want to start up businesses.
Parks and Recreation Director Scott Wyman will speak about the Lawless Park Plan.
Maintenance Superintendent David Dickey will lead a discussion on maintaining county buildings, including the George Newton House museum.
County Administrator Terry Proctor will address issues that are affecting the county's financial model and discuss local strategies to contribute to economic recovery.
The workshop is open to the public.
