CASSOPOLIS – Four forfeits helped the Brandywine wrestling team cruise to the Division 4 district championship Thursday night at Cassopolis High School.
But just because the finals turned out to be an easy 46-32 win over White Pigeon, the Bobcats had to work for their championship.
Brandywine survived a grueling battle with Constantine in the semifinals and came away with a 35-34 win over the Falcons.
Picking up two wins on the night for the Bobcats were Jimmie Wright (112), Bryon Fisher (119, 125), Ralph Sater (135), Kyle Kelly (145), Warren Watson (152) and Brad Ritchey (189).
Brandywine will now take part in the regional tournament next Wednesday at Schoolcraft. The Bobcats will face Mendon in the semifinals. Schoolcraft will face Bronson in the other semifinal.
